My Journey to Canada
It all started back in Mississippi when Mr. Alexander Ross chose myself and my friend Adam to go and help him study birds. But Mr. Ross wasn't really a bird studier, he was a slave helper. He was going to help me, Adam, Liza and Julilly escape to Canada. It was a long time to get there, all the blood sweat and tears. Going from muddy swamps to deep forests trying to reach the land of freedom. But only one thing was in our way, Mr. Simms, the slave catcher and the owner of the plantation. Myself and Adam got separated from Liza and Julilly, but there were many helpful people to help us on our way. Once we got on the Mayflower boat and crossed lake Erie, we were on free land. But unfortunatly, my best friend Adam died of blood poisoning. I was so happy yet so sad. I have a job as a porter in St. Catherines Canada and I'm a very happy person thanks to Mr. Ross Liza, Julilly, Adam and all the underground railroad workers.

Closing
Currently I am free and working not as a slave, getting paid in St. Catherines Canada. I work as a porter. Liza and Julilly soon joined me. I am very overjoyed and happy because I don't have to work as a slave ever again. All my hard work paid off. Mr. Ross is one of my biggest saviours Because I wouldn't be here if it wasn't for him. I will always remember him when I am being free and working for money in Canada. Maybe I will see he again when he drops off or rescues some other lucky slaves. But for now, I will enjot what I have and just get used to not being a slave and living in Canada!

Leadership
I am a leader. I am a leader because when Mr. Ross told me about how to get to Tennessee, I lead Julilly, Adam and Liza there. I also knew when to stop and when to keep going in the very long and tiring trek in the forest. Being a leader can either be a good or bad thing because, it is good when you get praised and rewarded when you succeeed or do well. But it can be a bad thing, when you don't know what to do or when you don't succeed in what you are trying to do.

Strength
Strength is important to me because when you are a slave you get chained to the back of a wagon, whipped, beat up and you starve. You have no family with you, all you have is the other slaves to be friends and rely on. It is a good thing to be strong because when you are picking cotton in the fields everyday in the hot weather and an empty stomach, you can't stop working or break down or else you will get whipped or beat up more.

- My name is Lester. I'm a slave worker. I get whipped and chained from the back of a wagon. I'm a very mentally and physically strong. I'm 20 years old and as of now I pick cotton in cotton fields at Massa Riley's plantation as slave worker in Mississippi. A man named Mr. Ross picked me and my friend Adam to go with him and study birds in Mississippi. But instead of studying birds, myself, Adam, Julilly and Liza are going to escape to Canada. But we hope that Mr.Sims won't catch us and then whip us. Now I'm a very happy person in St.Catherines, Canada working and getting paid money. My best friend Adam died of blood poisoning. I hope that my other frineds Liza and Julilly can join me in Canada and we can all work together. Not being slaves. I work as a porter. I'm a very happy person now living free in Canada.
